Strategies for English Language Learners in Secondary Science
Days 3 & 4

April 11-13, 2007

Objective:









Increase collaboration among science and English language learner (ELL) specialists at the ESC, school, and state level.

Identify research-based and promising practices in instruction and assessment for the ELL in high school science, and integrate those practices into student lessons.

Increase participants’ ability to provide focused support to schools that have not met AYP for one year and have an identified need for the ELL in high school science classes.
