Texas Autism Conference

The Texas Autism Conference is a statewide conference for parents, school personnel and other professionals working with individuals within the autism spectrum. It is sponsored by the Texas Education Agency and has been coordinated by the Education Service Center, Region 2 for more than a decade. This conference provides numerous opportunities for parents and professionals to acquire new ideas and fresh ways to work collaboratively to meet the needs of individuals with Autism. The conference focuses on providing information to parents and professionals based on existing research and best practice in instructional strategies from across the nation. The leading achievement of the Texas Autism Conference is the networking opportunity it provides for parents, students and professionals.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear nationally and internationally recognized speakers as well as speakers from around Texas who will present information regarding individuals with Autism.

Texas Assessment Conference

The only statewide conference in Texas specially dedicated to assessment and testing in education. The conference brings together a unique combination of teachers, counselors, school administrators, assessment coordinators, college-level personnel, and testing specialists, along with staff from the Texas Education Agency and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Conference topics cover a broad spectrum of assessment issues, accountability issues, the latest information on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), alternative assessment systems for special education and limited-English-proficient (LEP) students, college/university testing issues, best practices from districts, and more.

Texas Computer Education Association Annual Convention

One of the largest educational technology conventions in the nation and the largest in Texas, TCEA’s five-day convention is for all educators who want to increase their skills and learn more about how to integrate technology into the classroom.

More than 100 workshops and 300 concurrent sessions on subjects that range from the basics to the latest trends and hot topics provide an opportunity to develop technology skills and meet other educators who have similar goals.

A full-day leadership seminar is designed for board members, campus and district administrators, technology directors and coordinators. Seminar attendees will investigate trends and issues related to the effective implementation, administration, and evaluation of technology integration.

Transition Conference for Students, SPED Staff, and Parents

This training is for staff, parents, agencies and students with disabilities that are instructed primarily in general curriculum with accommodations/modifications. Participants will learn about the transition process and will be provided skills and resources in order to be more active in the planning and determination of transition goals and objectives, including self-determination and self-advocacy.

Students must attend with staff (1 to 4 ratio) or with a legal guardian.
